You Can Provide Input on Healthcare Clinic
GLPS Families,
Happy Spring Break! Many of you are no doubt reading this in the car or on a plane on the way to a vacation spot or a family visit. If you are not traveling, hopefully you and your family are looking forward to enjoying the break at home.
As you may be aware by now, GLPS is partnering with Eaton RESA to bring a healthcare clinic to the district through the use of grant funds. Michigan State University’s Office of K-12 Outreach is assisting us with this project as well. One of the first requirements of the grant is to get community, parent, and student input on the clinic and the needs that it will fill for our district families. To those ends, we are forming a community advisory committee. If you are interested in being a part of this process, we invite you to use this form to sign up. We need student input as well, so if you have students who are interested, please have them sign up, too. There will be various ways to be involved in the planning process, so signing up through the form simply adds your name to our list for further communications and opportunities to provide input and stay engaged. We will have additional information about next steps for those who signed up after the form closes on Tuesday, April 4th. Please note that for the purposes of the survey, you need to indicate the primary role you would like to play as we plan; for example, you may be a parent and a healthcare provider, and you will bring both perspectives to the conversation, but the grant requires folks to identify a primary role.
If you are not interested or cannot commit to being a part of the planning process, we understand completely. Throughout the spring, we will be providing periodic updates as we work through the stages required to bring an opportunity like this one to our district. We have monthly targets we are expected to hit through the grant, and the GLPS, ERESA, and MSU teams are hard at work to make sure we are on track.
I appreciate your continued engagement with the district and our schools, and I hope all of you have a happy and safe spring break. We know the school year goes quickly once we return; before we know it, the weather will be warm and we will be looking ahead to summer! Again, thank you for all you do; as always, I am #proudtobeacomet!
