From Our Principal

The Halloween parade will start at 3:15. If weather permits, we’ll parade outside behind the building, with parents lining the east side of the blacktop on the playground. In case of rain, we’ll move inside, inviting parents to line the gymnasium walls as we parade through the school. Classroom parties will be on October 31st, with times set by each teacher. By timing the parade near the end of the school day, we plan for a normal dismissal.

If you have not already done so, please sign up for ONE conference for your child. Our in-person options are on Tuesday, November 19th and Thursday, November 21st from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a virtual option on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you for following our pickup process! This year, we’ve seen impressive improvements: students are spotting their rides more quickly, parents are moving safely through the lot, and wait times have decreased significantly. The north end's zipper-out option has also helped streamline the flow. We appreciate your commitment to a safe and efficient pickup routine—thank you!

In celebration of School Bus Safety Week, we conducted evacuation drills to prepare students for emergencies. Please remind your child to stay seated, keep items secure, and use a quiet voice to avoid distracting the driver. Also, remind them never to walk or bike in front of buses. Together, we can help ensure safe commutes for all. Thank you!

Physical Education Schedule

Thanks to Mrs. Watters for creating this schedule to help kiddos remember which days to wear their gym shoes!

Art News

It has been so exciting getting to greet and meet my favorite artists again (both old and new!)! Students have enjoyed starting out the year creating sketchbooks and playing games. Since then we have dived deep into several projects using tempera paints, watercolors, unique painting styles, crayons, markers, etc. We've learned about chameleons, fireflies, and hot air balloons; discovered artists like James Rizzi and Leonardo DaVinci, and even got a chance to paint on windows (well, not really...but kind of . See our FaceBook for pics!!!).

Coming soon to a home near you...

In September, students have been creating special works of art for our annual art based fundraiser with Original Works! What is Original Works? Original Works is a program that transforms your student's artwork into wonderful and unique keepsakes that your whole family will love!

The possibilities of items range from ornaments to notebooks, magnets to coffee cups, ceramic tiles and more! As we get closer to this amazing opportunity, be sure to stay tuned for more information to be released in the weeks to come!

Got recyclables?

The art room is always looking for materials to help facilitate our creative endeavours. While it is great to ask before dropping things off, I can tell you now that if you have any wire hangers or old CDs laying around, I will gladly take them off your hands! Want to know more ways to help? Feel free to check out our ongoing Amazon wishlist. Thank you so much to those who have already contributed!

Want to know more about what happens in the art room? Curious to see what projects are decorating our fabulous halls? Then be sure to join our Delta Center art room Facebook page: "Mrs. BellDean's DC ArtRoom", for updates and visions of creativity!

Sincerely,

Mrs. BellDean, Art Teacher
