Dear Beagle Middle School Families,
It was another solid week here at Beagle Middle School. Our students did an OUTSTANDING job during NWEA testing on Wednesday; we thank our students and families for their support on this front. Our first PTO meeting was also held this week, and we thank our families for supporting our joint PTO. The students are very excited about the Hayes/Beagle PTO sponsored fundraiser that also kicked-off this week, especially since there are several potential prizes for participants along with a whole school dance if we meet our building fundraising goal. Finally, our volleyball and football teams had their first games this week; several students and families attended these events, positively encouraging our student athletes regardless of the final score–Comet PRIDE through and through! In short, it was a busy week that went very well because of your continued support!
Here are some additional updates/reminders before we head into the weekend:
Math NWEA Next Wednesday: On Wednesday, September 18th, our students will complete Math NWEA testing in the same fashion they did this week: CNC for the AM, altered schedule during the PM. We appreciate our families reminding students to fully charge their chromebooks the evening before.
Planners and PowerSchool: Just a friendly reminder to please continue to check student planners and PowerSchool on a regular basis as students began to receive more homework this week. In addition, quizzes and tests will be on the horizon in the near future. Planners are a great tool to help our students build executive functioning and organizational skills while also keeping parents informed of what needs to be completed at home on a nightly basis. In addition, our staff uses PowerSchool exclusively to provide families with classroom updates in addition to student performance on classroom-based measures.
8th Grade Washington DC Trip Parent Meeting: Tuesday, September 17 at 6pm in the Beagle Cafe, students do not need to attend.
School Picture Retakes: Picture retakes are on Tuesday, September 24th, please be sure your child brings their other picture packet with them if getting retakes. If you missed pictures during orientation, this is your opportunity to get those taken. Picture order forms will be provided to students during retakes.

Spirit Week: Our Comet Council in conjunction with Hayes, Holbrook, and the high school have put together a fun week of spirit wear ideas. Spirit week begins Monday, September 23rd. Please click on the following attachment for details: Screenshot 2024-09-12 at 3.52.38 PM.png
PTO Meeting: Our next Hayes/Beagle PTO meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm here in the Beagle Media center. Families may also attend this meeting virtually as there is currently a hybrid offering.
