Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:

Lockdown Drill: As we texted all families last night and have been announcing to students all week, there will be a State mandated lockdown drill during passing time later today.  We are not allowed to share with students or families the exact timing of the drill. GLPD and other first responders will be supporting with this drill.  Again, this is just a drill, and the drill usually lasts about twenty minutes or so.  This will be our last lockdown drill of the year.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Earlier this week, Mrs. Palette reached out to families with the sign-up link for our upcoming parent-teacher conferences, which will be held on February 27th, virtually from 4-6pm; March 4th, in-person from 4-7pm; and March 6th, in-person, from 4-7pm.  Here is the link again: https://ptcfast.com/schools/Beagle_Middle_School_2.  If you have any issues signing up for conferences, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Pelette directly at pelettel@glcomets.net.   We are looking forward to seeing our Beagle families at the upcoming conferences.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) STEM Camp at Grand Ledge High School:  High school students from the NTHS team will be hosting a free STEM camp for our middle school students on March 11th, 12th, and 13th from 3-4pm each day!  Students will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of STEM-focused activities, learning about different applications of Science, Technology, Design, and Engineering.  Students will also be exposed to SolidWorks software.  This is an outstanding opportunity for our students, and we thank GLHS and the NTHS team for hosting the event.  Students interested in attending must email the NTHS team at glhsnths@glcomets.net in advance and bring a signed permission slip the first evening of the event.  Both the permission slip and flyer are attached: NTHS Flyer.pdf NTHS Permission Slip.pdf

Yearbooks:  Yearbook orders are now being taken online. They are $15. Please use the link below to order yours today. Online ordering will end March 14th. https://shop.yearbookmarket.com/beaglemiddleschool.  If you have questions about yearbook ordering, please contact Mrs. Pelette directly at pelettel@glcomets.net

Lost and Found: The lost and found is exploding right now with coats, sweatshirts, and all kinds of treasures your child is missing. Please be sure and have your child check the lost and found. At the end of the trimester, all unclaimed items will be donated to Ken’s Closet.

PTO Meeting: We thank our families that attended the previous PTO meeting; your support is appreciated.  We wanted to take this opportunity to remind our families that attendance at PTO meetings does not require an every month commitment; family support and input is appreciated whether it’s attending one or several PTO meetings. Our next Hayes/Beagle PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30 pm here in the Beagle Media center.  Families may also attend this meeting virtually as there is currently a hybrid offering.  Please use the following link for more information: https://www.glcomets.net/ourschools/beagle-middle-school/pto/
