Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates that we wanted to share at this time:

Trimester Two Realities: We wanted to take this opportunity to share with our families that the second trimester of the school year is often the most challenging trimester for students–both academically and behaviorally.  It is the start, stop, start, stop again, and start again trimester with Thanksgiving and Winter Holiday breaks, which causes a shift in routine for our children.  This coupled with shorter days and unpleasant weather can make it unmotivating for children to want to play outside or be as active as they were earlier in the fall.  Just as with younger children, tweens thrive on consistent routines in their day-to-day lives in conjunction with maintaining other healthy habits such as: physical activity regimen and/or extra curricular activities, limiting screen time, and attempting to get outdoors as much as possible.  By staying active and consistent with their day-to-day habits, tweens are able to be successful during this challenging time of the year.

Help Shape Our School Improvement Plan: We value your input! Please take a few minutes to complete our Family School Climate Survey below. Your feedback will directly inform our Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (MICIP), which guides our district’s efforts to create effective strategies for student success. Thank you for partnering with us to make our schools even better!  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScRbq84qDGGoLqrwjm-u1R888NCVvEwLhj39t6IXi5UB_q3KA/viewform

Congratulations to our Band Students: On November 22nd, several of our Band students performed at the Solo and Ensemble Festival.  Beagle was represented in 48 events performing at the MSBOA District 8 Solo and Ensemble Festival.  All Grand Ledge students that participated earned a medal, with two events receiving a Division 2, and 48 events receiving a Division 1, the highest possible rating! We congratulate those Band members for their outstanding accomplishments!

Middle School Girls’ Basketball Athlete/Parent Meeting: There will be a parent/athlete meeting for those interested in playing Girls’ Basketball on December 10th at 5:30pm in the cafe’ at Beagle.  Please be sure to monitor the “Athletics” section of our webpage for more information in the future: https://www.glcomets.net/ourschools/beagle-middle-school/athletics/
