Dear Beagle Middle School Families,

Here are some updates we wanted to share at this time:

Donations: We thank our families and students for participating in our school spirit/donation week!  We were able to collect several donations that are being donated to Advent House.  In addition, our Candy Cane fundraiser–also facilitate by our student-led Comet Council–raised nearly $500 that was donated directly to the Blessing in a Backpack organization.  Again, we thank our families and students for their outstanding support; in addition, we greatly appreciate the leadership and thoughtfulness of our Comet Council members.

Thank your Mrs. Pedraza and Mrs. Densmore: We wanted to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Joan Pedraza for her years of service to Grand Ledge Public School as a head secretary at both Delta Center and Beagle Middle School.  Joan is retiring after 17 years of outstanding service.  In addition, we also wanted to thank Mrs. Karen Densmore, 7th grade math teacher, for her years of service to Grand Ledge Public Schools.  Karen will be moving to a teaching position closer to home.  We thank Karen for her twenty years of service to Grand Ledge Public Schools as well.  Mrs. Densmore’s current teaching position will be covered in the short term by a consistent substitute teacher, and her position has been posted.  Our goal is to fill this open math position in our building as soon as possible. Again, thank you both Joan and Karen for your dedication and commitment to our students; you will be missed.

Welcome Mrs. Shannon Schnicke: We wanted to take this opportunity to welcome Mrs. Schnicke to our front office secretarial staff.  Mrs. Schnicke began working this week with our front office staff, and she comes to us with a wealth of experience as a secretary, parent, and community member.

Outstanding Holiday Concerts: A huge shout-out to all of our band and choir students for their outstanding performances during their holiday concerts this month! We also thank our band and choir parents for supporting their children with their musical endeavors both at school and at home.  Special thanks to both Mrs. Burton and Mrs. Zerman for their continued dedication to their music programs and for consistently creating excellent opportunities for our students.

Lost and Found: If your student is missing something, please ask them to check our lost and found, which is located in the main hallway adjacent to our cafeteria.  Shortly after holiday break, items are going to be donated as things are piling up.
