From Our Principal

I’m thrilled to share that Mr. Gabe Lopez has joined our team as our new Dean of Students! Mr. Lopez brings extensive experience to the role, having worked as a special education EI middle school teacher, a Special Education K-12 Coach, and most importantly, as a Dean of Students. His expertise in restorative practices, positive behavior interventions, and supporting student success is complemented by his dedication to building strong relationships and cultivating a positive school culture. Mr. Lopez will greatly benefit our students, staff, and families. In his short time here, he has already positively impacted our staff and students in his first week as Dean. We are grateful for his work and what he brings to the team here at Delta Center; welcome Mr. Lopez!

On the note of hiring new staff, our counselor, Mrs. Stevens, is no longer with the district. We are actively seeking a new counselor. In the meantime, Juan Castillo, the District’s Student Inclusion, Mental Health & Wellness Supervisor,  has been filling in for her. If you know of a qualified school counselor who would be interested in our school, please reach out and let them know.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Teresa Dyer

Hello Delta Center Families!

Our March Literati Book Fair is coming and planning for this fair is starting. In the past,
Literati has provided our school with a companion online fair. They have now expanded
the “online fair” to a “year-round store” which has an expanded catalog of books,
STEM kits, and educational games for our students. Families are able to shop year-
round and our school will still earn rewards (much like the Scholastic store).
Four weeks before our in-person fair begins, our school is invited to begin shopping
early via the new online store. Some of these titles will not be at the in-person book
fair and are only available through the online store.
These online favorites will be available at literati.com/online-favorites throughout the
book fair and throughout the year, giving shoppers more to choose from and giving
us more opportunities to fundraise.

Be on the look-out for the newly revamped online store link in the coming days.
Our in-person book fair will be the week of March 10 th .
We will have 2 family shopping nights:
Tuesday, March 11 th from 5pm-8pm
Thursday, March 13 th from 5pm-8pm
Are you interested in volunteering at our book fair? Bookfair volunteers receive a 20%
discount through Literati. A sign-up genius to assist me at the cash registers will
become available the closer we get to the fair.
More details to come!

Our PTO provides support for teachers, academic materials for students, and fun activities for students and families. We are in need of volunteers to continue to run!

Please see below our meeting schedule for this school year and a list of our members. We would love to have you join us. We have free childcare during the meetings!

What is a makerspace ? It is a place where students can build, create, innovate, and explore with tools and STEM based activities.  The goal is to be able to provide this learning experience to ALL of our students.Any questions please reach out to Brooke Ward.

We are looking for parent volunteers to help run
makerspace on Monday’s during lunch recess!
