From Our Principal

I hope everyone enjoyed the extended break with MLK Day and the two unexpected cold days! Our team is in the process of completing the winter screening, which will continue into next week. This valuable data will be used during our Winter Data Analysis in the first week of February. At that time, we will review grade-level trends and use the information to guide and adjust our instruction. This work aligns with our ongoing efforts to support academic success and is directly tied to our school improvement goal of increasing student achievement.

On February 11th, Grand Ledge High School will host the Cool School Polar Plunge! This exciting event is a fantastic opportunity to support the Special Olympics, funding unified sports as well as their winter and summer games—a truly meaningful cause. We hope you’ll join us in making a difference!

This year, I’m excited to join the DC team in participating in the Plunge! If you would like to participate in the plunge and/or make a donation towards this cause, you can click here for more information.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Greetings and Salutations!

Our first art show of the year starts next week at the Sawdon Administration Building! The show features 84 of our talented Delta Center artists, from ALL grade levels, in a rotating showcase that will eventually showcase artwork from not just the elementary level but the middle and high school levels as well. That's a lot of amazing creativity!

The art will be on display through the month of January/February from January 27th - February 9th and can be viewed during daytime business hours. Sawdon will also be hosting an evening Open House on February 5th from 6-7pm!

Be sure to check out this great opportunity over the next few weeks. We hope you find the artwork inspiring! Our next art show will be in April, so stay tuned

Don't forget to say "CONGRATULATIONS" to all our participating artists! I couldn't be prouder!

Hello Delta Center Families!

Our March Literati Book Fair is coming and planning for this fair is starting. In the past,
Literati has provided our school with a companion online fair. They have now expanded
the “online fair” to a “year-round store” which has an expanded catalog of books,
STEM kits, and educational games for our students. Families are able to shop year-
round and our school will still earn rewards (much like the Scholastic store).
Four weeks before our in-person fair begins, our school is invited to begin shopping
early via the new online store. Some of these titles will not be at the in-person book
fair and are only available through the online store.
These online favorites will be available at literati.com/online-favorites throughout the
book fair and throughout the year, giving shoppers more to choose from and giving
us more opportunities to fundraise.

Be on the look-out for the newly revamped online store link in the coming days.
Our in-person book fair will be the week of March 10 th .
We will have 2 family shopping nights:
Tuesday, March 11 th from 5pm-8pm
Thursday, March 13 th from 5pm-8pm
Are you interested in volunteering at our book fair? Bookfair volunteers receive a 20%
discount through Literati. A sign-up genius to assist me at the cash registers will
become available the closer we get to the fair.
More details to come!
