2017-2018 Hayes School Safety Drills
As directed by the State of Michigan, Hayes Middle School, as well as all Michigan schools, are required to conduct fire, tornado and lock down drills throughout the school year.
Schools are required to conduct: 5 fire drills, 2 tornado drills and 3 lock-down drills.
Fire/Tornado Drills shall be conducted during school hours and when the school is open to the public. Each school shall compy with these requirements and keep a record of the drills.
Lock Down Drills shall include security measures that are appropriate to an emergency such as the release of hazardous material, or the presence of potentially dangerous individual on or near the premises. The school shall seek input from the administration of the school and the local public safety officials on the nature of the drills to be conducted.
Below is the required documentation of the completed safety drills for the current school year.
