GLPS Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

As we have been communicating over the last couple of months, one of our strategic plan goals is: By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, we will have an inclusive graphic logo that involves Winky in all buildings, and that outlines Grand Ledge’s priority to be inclusive to all (Should come from GL students, student developed, and located in a common, frequently trafficked area; should include our students and be updated and fluid). As we have also communicated, this does not replace any GLPS logos; it simply incorporated Winky to highlight our commitment to ensuring GLPS is a safe and supportive place for students, staff, families and the community, and it will be displayed throughout the district. You will start to notice them in the fall.

We had multiple students submit ideas for an inclusive graphic for GLPS. We were very excited about the entries, which were submitted by students of all ages, from kindergarteners through high schoolers. In last week’s family communication, I indicated that rather than choosing one design, we decided to incorporate all of them onto one poster. ...
