Strategic Plan

The Strategic Plan for Grand Ledge Public Schools has three belief statements that directly relate to diversity, equity, and inclusion:

  • "We believe in an inclusive learning environment where every person is valued."
  • "We believe in a safe, inclusive environment where students can explore their interests and learn the skills they need to thrive in their communities."
  • "We believe it is the role of the school district to provide support and access for all students."

Beagle Middle School Initiatives

  • RISE Team – staff committee supports and facilitates different cultural celebrations for the whole school with a focus on the student team known as STRIVE
  • The STRIVE team is a student group that meets approximately once a month. During these meetings, students learn about different cultures recognized nationally and globally each month. They listen respectfully to presenters and then participate in a Google-based activity. 


Holbrook Elementary School Initiatives

Delta Center Elementary School

  • Delta Center Elementary School’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable environment for all students, staff, and families. The team:
    1. Promotes Cultural Awareness through events and programs that celebrate diverse perspectives.
    2. Advances Equity by identifying and addressing gaps in resources, opportunities, and support.
    3. Builds Inclusivity by developing policies, creating safe spaces, and fostering a sense of belonging for all.
    4. Supports Growth and Improvement through ongoing feedback and regular assessments of school culture.
  • The DEI team’s mission is to ensure that everyone feels valued and supported, creating a school community where differences are embraced and every student has the opportunity to thrive.
